One thing I forgot to say that was strange and out of place, when NoScripts displayed update page, it had a message to update to 5.1.2, that I was on 5.1.1 and the reason was that most likely most current version was not on Mozilla.
However, when I checked version, I really was on 5.1.2 of NoScripts.

I just want to let you know that on private window there still is the icon, fully functional, pretty weird!

Noticed yesterday that just hovering the mouse arrow over the update caused the icon to disappear from the add-on bar. it reappeared as soon as you moved the arrow off of it.
This happened on both Win 8.1 Home 64 & 7 Home 32 with FF 56.0.
The fix worked on 7, have yet to apply it to 8.1

I had it yesterday. I'm back to 5.1.1. for now.
The only similarity from the extensions of the people seems to be Noscript.
A few weeks earlyer i had the same problem with uBlock origin.
There I also went back to the previous version.

My last update caused the icon to disappear and I cannot get signed into any of the sites that I need or want to.

NoScript is the only extension installed on my Firefox.

I had firefox v 56.0 when NoScript updated to 5.1.2 and the icon disappeared. Then firefox updated to 56.0.1 and the noscrirpt icon was back. I did not take any manual steps my self.

Had problem with Firefox 56.0 (64-bit) Windows 10. Was a simple fix.
Go to Firefox tools > addons > NoScript Options > appearance tab > select "show" status bar label > restart firefox.

all ok here on both FF profiles and PCs.
the strange: 5.1.2 that was the first time that Noscript installed succesfully without browser restart!
