NoScript icon still missing from toolbar :-(
Odd, the NoScript icon is missing on my MacPro, but it is fine on my MacBookPro...

Both have the same OS and FF version.

Even if we've got a few report, I'm still unable to reproduce this issue and I'd really like to pinpoint it, no matter if a work-around seems to exist. Thanks!

I selected Addons in the menu, disabled NoScript, when asked said delete, then re-enabled and I got the icon back.

No Icon with firefox 56. I have no idea how to start the browser in "safemode". I tried reinstalling noscript, that puts the icon at the top, but mouse-hover shows it still connected to noscript.net not the page I am on. Some pages I visit run all java and third party scripts... some websites I visit allow zero java and no icons to allow host to load. This is totally fubar! I have no security and can't use some necessary sites.

Did you read the first post in this thread?

NoScript Options > Advanced > Trusted, un-check "Cascade top document's permissions to 3rd-party scripts"

That's what these steps are -
  1. Firefox menu > Help (?) > Restart with Add-ons disabled
  2. Click the [Continue in Safe Mode] button

Try going Tools > Add-ons Manager > NoScript > Options

You're welcome.

If you need further help with getting NoScript's permissions back working, feel free to start a new thread and ask.

That fixed it for me! Thanks.
(And Mozilla would thank you because I was just going to switch to Chrome without NoScript)

So the "restart in safe mode" fixed it for me.

Running as admin did not.

Thanks for this product!

The restart in safe mode worked for me.
Linux (unbuntu derivative), FF 56, NoScript 5.1.2.
Other add-ons: Ubuntu Modifications [added by Unbuntu i believe]; Safe Browsing Version 4 (temporary add-on) 1.0.0 [apparently added in by the Firefox team]; Dark Background And Light Text.

I tried the solutions suggested by the people above, including installing the secure version and rebooting in safe mode, disabling the add-on and enabling it again (with plenty of FF reboots in between). At this point NoScript seems to be working both from the right click menu as well as the CTRL+SHIFT+S popup, but the icon is still missing. FF 56, my other add-ons are Adblock Plus, EPUBreader and the Safe Browsing Version 4 (Temporary) enabled, with UBlock Origin, Avast online security and Avast Safeprice disabled.
