Try to set the
flashgot.multiQuiet about:config preference to
false.
Yeah ,it is set to False by default.
I noticed one more thing. When I clicked Download Helper icon to download (the youtube file) , the file was downloaded ,but WITHOUT AN EXTENSION. This reminds me of a similar issue a few days back
http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopi ... 126#p19100 (although then the FG icon did not flash)

Sorry, my fault, I meant
true. Did you try that?

Did not work. Seems to be a problem with the clip (I tried downloading some other youtube clips without any issues). You have to take care of such exceptions.

Post your download manager logs of the download attempt.

Browser built in.. Where should I find the logs.
It does not work here too.

The problem is with the extension of the clips which FG does not realise..

No logs for browser built-in.
So, use an actual download manager & post the details from there.
What are these extensions that FG is not realizing.
On your last link, I get two download links.
The first, application/smil, which returns nothing.
The seconds, video/x-flv, which downloads the expected video.
Code: Select all

Might be I do not have the patience to go deep into the technical aspects. That is for geeks like you to figure out. For me when I click a flashing icon ,the file should download, thats all. I have also told you that "Download helper" downloads the same file without any extensions. And that FG performs well in other cases.

Download helper lists out all the media files immediately on clicking NS. Whereas with the FG icon it lists only the ads and ,only after clicking the play button in the window it lists the "ACTUAL" file.

Correct.
Did the video clip (after commercials, if any) actually start playing?
If it hadn't FlashGot Media won't see the link.

Still the peculiar result is persisting as far the youtube video is concerned. Ads or no ads ,why clicking a FG icon gives an additional prompt to "Where to download" if it is not the case in others. Also if nothing worthwhile is there for download why FG icon should be present on that site??
