I do not know whatever was wrong in my post? Specifics please...

This is a definite bug ,as I tested elsewhere and it works fine except for the page mentioned by me.And thru download helper it works fine.

Another point I noted is suppose I do not close the flash window ,the FF download dialogue box shows NIL download.Only after the screen window /page is closed the download seems to commence.But I remember once Giorgio saying that he can choke the Flash display and redirect it (the video file) to the file download if anyone opts for download..

Just tried it again.

Worked.
This time I did not get the ads (commercials). If you do get the commercial, you must wait for the commercial to finish before the clip you want appears.

Otherwise don't seem to have an issue here.
(I did run into issues yesterday, but that was separate from any of this.)

What the other recent poster posted is different too.


Look at your download manager logs. Verify that you have a cookie being passed.

Well actually it plays very well DIRECTLY ON YOUTUBE.Why on earth should FG query me where I have to save (Final snapshot) ,when the options are already given in FF.Something fishy here. Can you for a change tell me the difference between the flash clips hosted at the 2 sites which I have mentioned. Initially I had no problems with youtube>>FG

The question is what is it looking to save?
A commercial? A Flash player (itself, .swf)? Something else seen by FlashGot, but not the video you're looking for?

If playback of the video has not yet started, FlashGot will not see it.
If you click the play button, will it then see it & download?

Create a new, clean test Profile. Install only FlashGot. Does the download work?

We are perhaps hitting the end of the road here. What I had to emphasise is the difference in the downloading sequence in both the sites. I had asked that to be tested.

By the way I am least bothered by FG asking me where to save because IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO IN MY CASE (with default options ,as it happens cleanly in the second case).

I had an opposite problem. Trouble with rediff.com.
By default (or at least I've defaulted) to creating subdirectories locally, i.e. mirroring the download structure of the server. And for some reason (possibly excessive file path/name length), I initially received nothing. Selecting to download "flat" & the flv came down.

Tried with a clean slate with only NS and FG enabled.The erratic behavior is repeated. It surely is a bug. Wonder why Giorgio is not looking here?!

PS How do I enable / disable addons at one go? I have around 10 of them and it is a pain ,clicking one by one ...

It downloads 15.9MB for me, both with Orbit Downloader and with the Built-in ("Inkaar___O_Mugada_Mugada_Mein_Gud_Ki___Usha_Mangeshkar.flv").

It downloads 9.7MB for me ("Om_Shanti_Om_Deewangi_Deewangi_Remix_Video__Video_clips__Featured_videos__Videos_bro293mp9fcgggi0.D.281670.Om_Shanti_Om_Deewangi_Deewangi_Remix_Song_with_Lyrics_hollywood_blockbuster_video_download___Bollywood.avi.flv").

The download starting only when you close the window (or the video finishes play) is expected with the Built-in, because, in order to save your bandwidth, it tries to reuse the cache which is otherwise locked by the movie player.

I'm not sure whether there was something else you wanted to know?

Try to set the flashgot.multiQuiet about:config preference to true.
