New Garbage

Post by Traviata »

Hello again --

Out of the blue - and perhaps in the middle of search session, garbage re-appeared on my startpage and webmail inbox page. Can't swear to it, but the stuff looks slightly different than that of a few days ago. The code I entered under ABE is still there so am wondering if this is a new site and if is going to keep on happening - I suspect the answer is Yes -- Please advise - again -- Traviata

Depends on what's appearing.

Is there anything from NoScript in the Browser Console (Ctrl+Shift+J)?

Hmm, looks like it's the same deal as before but must be a different site doing it.
Please check the Browser Console (Ctrl-Shift-J) when this issue happens and post here the messages starting with "[NoScript".

Ctrl-Shift-J is the keystroke to open the browser console.. not find the browser console then press Ctrl-Shift-J

Yeah - I know that's the action but I'm lost as to when/where to perform it. On the page with the garbage? On some NoScript page? Sorry to be so dense here, but just don't know how to effect this --

No problem.
Open the console and then open (or reload) the page with garbage, then look for messages per above.

Sorry - I'm still floundering - where, on what screen, do I enter the keystroke - and when I actually manage to open the console where will I see whatever is in it to report?

Assuming no plugin is active, you just enter it anytime Firefox has keyboard focus. The browser console message list displays as soon as you open the console and AFAIK there is no way to not display it and have the console open (who would want that?).

EDIT Sorry, I forgot you're on a Mac - it's actually ⌘-Shift-J or maybe ⌘-Option-J
Cmd, *not* Ctrl!

Got it! Will copy and post soon as I can tomorrow - thanks for your patience - I was beginning to think I was going bonkers and all my years in systems (pre-PCs and MacBooks) were for nothing -- :)
