Spam filter triggered for me when I wrote post
http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?p=39316#p39316 if I had the next list element ("[*]") follow the list entry that ended with a closing bracket, thought I would minimise the testcase, but now the testcase might be too minimised, it indeed looks nothing like what a non-spammer would ever write:

Code: Select all
–) –
(html encoded because of spam filter)

Er...does text within code tags really have to be HTML-encoded? I would have thought that the spam filter would ignore it. OTOH, I guess that would just give spammers an easy bypass...<sigh>.
Can't we just impose a death penalty for spam? It would make life so much simpler.

Inside CODE it would have been ignored, no need to encode and yeah spammers use all kinds of ways to hit the board. They use posts using created accounts and anonymous posts, they use signature links, they use flush colors (to blend with the background for link boasting), they use PM spamming, they use the reporting feature to send spam (although it has been disabled) and its a pain but the mod/admin staff are pretty quick on the draw to nail them, so we have gotten used to it.

It wasn't ignored when I tried to post it.
/edit: Yep, still the case.

Interesting, thank you for letting me know. Over the years I was under the impression from the phpBB dev people that I work with that the code tag is an as-is interface for the sake of being, well "code", and so it is not parsed, but maybe it has something to do with how Giorgio is parsing for the sake of SPAM or they changed something in the infrastructure, investigating.
