Suggestion: "Stop all scripts" button

Post by MyNameHere »

Just a suggestion--something I think all browsers should have anyway: A button like the Stop button for loading pages, but it stops all scripts from executing when you click it. Maybe all scripts on the current page, maybe all scripts in the browser window, maybe all scripts in all browser windows--but the basic idea is "turn it off!!!" And no scripts will work until you toggle it back again.

Sort of a "Forbid Scripts Globally" button.

I think it's a good idea, but not really within the scope of NoScript, since it would just be a nuisance-blocker (malicious scripts could do their damage already). Feel free to develop another addon for it; I'm sure people would be interested. I'd want to try it.

Indeed, I too would envision this more as a browser feature.

Some possibly related bug reports in Mozilla's bug tracker on this:
