I use FF Portable and twice in the last year the updates have eaten all my settings. I would love to see the export function have an automatic backup setting for once a day or on every change. This would greatly help those of us using the portable browsers. thanks

Use (Windows) Task Scheduler to make periodic copies of prefs.js.
A recent thread mentioned backup shadow copies which may be available to you (depending on Win7 version).
The
BACKUP9.EXE utility will maintain a number of backups (9 by default) of a file.

If you are an advanced enough developer, you can build a batch file like I have that will run before each execution and creates a folder that backs up all the goodies that I care about and this will protect you. Or you can just download and use this extension which I have used in the past and works great (
