Does Flashgot work with any portable download manager?

That is what I would like to know. :P

I tried Flashgot both with Portable Firefox and portable seamonkey. The errors are almost same.

Actually, the add-on detects both the portable download managers I have installed: jdownloader and Free download manager (from http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/f ... r-portable) however when I try to download any YouTube video with them:

a) Flashgot sends only the video link to Jdownloader. In contrast, if I use Jdownlaoder's link grabber function to download YouTube videos, I also get the option for a mp3 download. I understand that Flashgot is meant only to download videos and not mp3s. ;)

b) With Free download manager, the error is this:

http://flashgot.net/faq#qa1_6

I cannot download YouTube videos with freedownloadmanager anyway, but everything else is downloaded by FDM just fine without the need to use Flashgot.

If there is really any free, portable download manager that works seamlessly with Flashgot, I would appreciate the info. :)

Portable installations are not reported or recognized by the system in the same way so unless you have a downloader than can be manually hacked to a specific path and you can configure Flashgot setting to point to it using relative path, then you might be fine but unlikely you can do it that easily. I use portable apps myself, there ARE limitations and you can't expect everything to behave the exact same way. You can still use flashgot in the portable apps but just use the built-in downloader of the browser as the most full proof way.
