Hi ,
I have set Irfan view as the default viewer for any image type in this world and all the image file types bear the Irfan view icon. It works fine for Network systems , USB drive etc but howmuch ever I try the snaps of my camera , mobile open only with Windows Photo viewer eventhough the image/icon is Irfanview JPG file . If I force it by right click on the file and open it thru Irfanview it does open , but it would not move to the next file (inherently WindowsPV does that).

1. How to make Irfanview open the files and also display all the files of my camera etc.

Irfan view is available on the Web and remotely Webtechnology? ;)

The camera doesn't behave like a normal removal storage (flash drive, memory card, …) when connected to a PC?

In cases of cameras I know there would be an option in which mode you want it to open which then includes modes like PictBridge for direct printing but also a "like USB-Stick" mode.

If specific to just camera images and all else works fine, it might be a raw image issue. If the pics are in RAW format and you have not associated it with Infran or it cannot support it, then you get it with whatever app is set and can read it.

If the camera connected to the PC is mounted, then it behaves just like any other removable drive and would be treated as such. If you can browse for the images through the file explorer, then it would be treated just as if it was on the PC drive, thumbdrive, or any other type of removable drive.

Well infact Windows explorer is recognizing the mobile as a Pen drive , the images stored there are Irfan view JPG files. If the same folder is copied to hard drive , the files open with Irfan view and the next button leads to the next file. I wonder if Irfan view needs to update. I searched their FAQs but this particular issue seems not included. Ofcourse this issue I find discussed at random in other fora.

Ok, as I suspected, something is broken with the association Infran has configured. The camera is detected like a normal external, so good there. The icons are showing Infran JPG files, so obviously the system expects that app to open it. But if its not happening, then something is not configured right within Infran or some registry entries handling the association are broken. You can try and go to the Control Panel, use the Default Programs, and then located Infran on the left, if the programmer was good enough to include this feature like ACDSee does, and then you can choose all the associations and have them reapplied and updated. That might fix your problem right there.

Hi,
I downloaded and ran ACDSee Free. When I click on the files in the mobile it once again opens only thru Windows Photo viewer. It has changed the image associations to ACDSee. But otherwise in my system there seems no significant difference from IrfanView. Can you confirm that files in the folders of mobile / Camera connected via cable/BlueT open in ACDSee and it can hop on to the next file using arrows in your case?
