NoScript breaks click-to-play for plugins

Post by timbugzilla »

With noscript (v2.5.1) AND/OR adblock plus (stable or development builds) installed and enabled in a nightly moz-central build (win32) click to play only blocks some embedded flash videos from loading. Disabling adblock plus fixes the problem.

Bug has been repeated on win8 (RTM) x86 and win7 x64. Both with win32 moz-central nightlies.

Bug is repeatable when loading this URL:

http://boingboing.net/2012/08/16/mars-c ... dy-vi.html

This bug has also been noted on the adblock plus forum:

https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic ... 596#p62596

I have filed a bug at Mozilla on the issue:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=783460

ps. I have ytimg.com, youtube-nocookie.com, boingboing.net, typekit.com, googleapis.com, and google.com all whitelisted on the boingboing page.

With NoScript alone I am not seeing this problem, so I have to say its an issue introduced by Adblock Plus. Specially if you have the flash container tab enabled on their side.

Nothing much to add, it's a Firefox bug (yours is a duplicate of that) and it's being fixed by Mozilla. Shit happens on Nightly, you know.
