I used flashgot with flashget 1.9.6 for a long time.
recently i had to rebuild my system and in the new installation flashgot can't detect flashget any more. all i see highlighted in the download manager list is "wellget" which isn't installed.
I use build 1.1.8.6 of flashgot on Win XP

Does Flashget work correctly in IE?

Possibly not this, but give it a try (reinstall):

1.6 Q: My download manager appears to be detected, but when I try to download something I get this error message: "Download manager not properly installed. Incorrect function". What's happening?

Facing the same problem, it won't detect after reinstall/other programs which have been installed afterwards.
It even has the same thing when only showing wellget which is a bit of a pain; will be watching thread.

1.1 Q: I've just installed FlashGot and restarted my browser, but I see only the "Build gallery" and "FlashGot options" menu items. No "FlashGot link", no "FlashGot selection", no "FlashGot all"! If I look at the download manager list, I see NO DOWNLOAD MANAGER DETECTED. What's happening?

What version of Flashget are you running?
Try reverting to an earlier version & see what happens.

I was using the newer one, tried reinstalling that and then installed the "classic" version off the site. Dunno if that would do much. After that installed Orbit, current flashget is 1.9.6.1073
This just happened randomly, tried uninstalling then reinstalling flashgot, then installing the updates which I've had so I don't know what's up with it
