[RESOLVED] noscript breaks popupblocker for leftclick ...

noscript breaks pop up blocker for left click on first focus (page don't have focus, then you click on it)
if you visit this
ADULT XXX WEBSITE NAUGHTY DENTIST(?)
with Firefox 3.0.9 and NoScript 1.9.2 (javascript turned on)
and lose focus from the main window (click location bar for example)
then left click directly on embedded flash movie to turn it on, you will get pop up in background
if you do same, and right click, firefox will block pop up successfully
if you left click somewhere on page, where no links/flash.. then click on flash, first click
doesn't prompt, but second click prompts to enable
also, minor issue with same site, is div overlapping obscuring some content (movie stats)
both of these seem to go away when I disable noscript
anyway, thats my take on the situation, if i'm wrong I apologize in advance

Keep up the good work, thank you

I've noticed that on a couple sites now, but I don't think it has to do with NoScript, but rather specific page coding that is simply intended to do just what it does.
Guessing that there is some sort of "element" that is sized to fit overtop the video, & until you that element is "popped" (which then causes the ad to open in a new page) the video will not start playback.
So if you were to block or remove that element, you would get your video with the popup ad.
An Alt+Left-click will play the movie without the popup (but then you need two hands

).
(For some reason, FlashGot is not seeing the stream & I don't remember that being the case before? OK, maybe it has always been the case there, cause the file is being served over rtmp: - which FlashGot doesn't see. Shouldn't really matter though, as they do provide a clickable link to download the media.)
Perhaps someone could come up with that "element" that needs to be blocked to prevent the popup altogether.

Oh, BTW, that is a fairly recent change (the popup ad) on that site.

Got it, http://banner1.pornhost.com/livejasmin.js.
Use Adblock Plus to block that, or more generally, http://banner1.pornhost.com/*.

I'm certain that is not the case because i tested it. with noscript turned off, it works, firefox popupblocker blocks the popup. with noscript turned on i get the popup.

Similar issue fixed in
this post.
Kept flash blocked in general, and only clicked on actual video. (Strange -- the dentist hardly even looked at her teeth!)
The page was in focus from the beginning.
Keep everything blocked, and keep adding blocks until only the site's script and the individual video is clicked.
Also, AdBlock Original shows two subdocument iFrames being blocked, without any input from me. (It default-blocks all ads and such unless you allow them.)
I like it and always use it.

At the time I looked before, the (ABP) block I added worked for me.
Today, it didn't.
Two likely suspects did pop up though.
Code: Select all
|http://thumb1.pornhost.com/*
I added those, & once again, I can view the video without popups.
(I didn't check to see which filter was the one actually needed? Suppose you could generalize the filter, but I'm not familiar with ABP filters. Tried
http://thumb?.pornhost.com ... but that didn't seem to take?)
PS: Use
Pazera Free Audio Extractor to extract the audio from that video clip. (For some reason the audio
should be ~7:55, yet after about 4:18 there is nothing but silence. Extract using
Try extract original audio stream [wma], or MP3, but reduce the bitrate down to 32kbps.)

I didn't listen to the audio, as the question was about the video and popups. Thanks for being so thorough in your research!

A visit to the dentist could be due ,but for sincere reasons! Just wondering ,why on left click on the placeholder there was a interspersed message at the background "NO HOTLINKS ALLOWED".But on revisiting the page and clearing thru the NS context ,the professionalism of the Dentist became evident. Strange there were no popups or pop-unders.
Unfortunately though the Dentist is amenable any number of times ,the message could not be replicated.
If Giorgio is curious about this thread he could explain ,why Flash Got or Download helper is not supporting the download of this movie? Not for ethical reasons I suppose!

why Flash Got or Download helper is not supporting the download of this movie?
Because the file is being served by
RTMP which FlashGot cannot see. Thoughtfully they provide a like for you to download if you desire.
(PS: As you view the video, you'll notice <if you had watched it, which I hadn't really done before> that the audio cuts out around 4:18, so the extracted audio clip was in fact correct <with the contained silence>.)
how is it fixed?

Installing AdBlocker isn't a fix for noscript breaking firefox popup blocker.
I don't mind image ads, but I do mind popups, and noscript interferes with the popupblocker for that page (this is a bug in noscript).
Thanks

I can't reproduce it with
latest development build (1.9.4.3), tested on
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060215 Firefox/3.0.11
and
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9.1pre) Gecko/20090615 Shiretoko/3.5pre
Can you still?

OK, I think I never understood your original issue.
What you are saying is that without NoScript, the site generates a popup (popunder actually) that is eaten by (FF) Popup Blocker.
And with NoScript installed, you do get the popup.
But the popup depends upon a cookie.
Remove NoScript.
Clear your cookies. (The cookie popundr @ http://www.pornhost.com in particular.)
Visit the dentist.
You will see that you do get a popup (popunder) that does bypass the Popup Blocker.
Now review your cookies.
You will see that you now have one, popundr @ http://www.pornhost.com in particular.
Visit the dentist.
No popup. Most likely because they do not want to pop you with each playback, but only every so often.
Now install NoScript & repeat the same.
You will see you get the same results.
The very first time, with no cookies, you will get a popup.
The second time, the cookie is set, & you will not get a popup.
-------
Another way ...
Clear your cookies.
Set http://www.pornhost.com/ as Blocked in Cookie Manager.
Uninstall NoScript.
Go to the dentist.
You will see you get the popup.
Close the popup.
Refresh the dentist page.
Loop back to ... You will see you get the popup. (Repeat till your fingers grow weary).
Now repeat the same, only difference, Install NoScript.
You will get the same results.
(Why in the world does FF not have an easily <more easy> accessible Cookie Manager?)
