While discussing funny pirates, went to this link: http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/usc3

Flashgot doesn't detect the .swf file that's clearly visible in view-source:

Code: Select all

<html>...
<head>...
<link rel="video_src" href="http://70.85.109.171/albino_flash010/upskitcreek/usc3(www.albinoblacksheep.com).swf" />
...

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://70.85.109.171/albino_flash010/upskitcreek/usc3(www.albinoblacksheep.com).swf" width="550" height="400" id="video" style="margin: 0; padding: 0;">

<param name="movie" value="http://70.85.109.171/albino_flash010/upskitcreek/usc3(www.albinoblacksheep.com).swf" />
Why, oh, why can't flashgot detect this file?

Not sure why FlashGot doesn't see it? Though I don't think FlashGot particularly sees SWF, perhaps?
(Guess it sees that, W A R N I N G! Federal U.S. Law states ... & says, hey, I'm outta here ;-).

Orbit finds it easily.
You too could find it in your /cache/ directory - 12,672,979 bytes. Simply rename it to, ARG!.swf ;-)

Also note that this particular SWF happens to be a single, stand-alone file, that can simply be captured on its own & replayed. There are other SWF that rely on multiple individual SWF pieces, that would be more difficult to successfully obtain a working copy.

Flashgot has no problem finding other swf files from my experience. I download funny flash cartoons all the time.

@Aerik:
it's a bug and will be fixed in next release. Thanks for reporting.
