FlashGot 1.4.2 Cursor Feedback

Post by therube »

FlashGot 1.4.2 Cursor Feedback

Is there a preference for that - to disable it?
Yeooow! My cursor changed & I had no idea why. Was driving me batty.

I don't want to disable the gesture, necessarily, but I do want to disable the Feedback.

Do you mean the cursor didn't get back to normal when you aborted or finished the gesture? If you do, that's a bug.
This feature was very important to me to understand whether the gesture was already detected or not yet.
Actually, it was so useful I didn't even think of a preference to turn it off. Probably a good idea for next version.

It showed up, on its own if you will.
(Knowing now what it is from, I assume I (inadvertently) "gestured".)
In any case, out of the blue, I had the orange cloud & thunderbolt (well that's what I'll call it).

At first I had no idea what caused it to appear.
Thought the particular page I was on caused the mouse pointer to change?

Over most of the page, the "Feedback" was there.
When moving the mouse around, there were odd places where it did revert to normal, but always returned to Feedback.

It persisted through multiple tabs & windows.

In particular annoying when I was closing tabs.
Not know "where" the pointer was (exactly), I would end up clicking a Personal Toolbar item (bookmarklet) rather then clicking the tab as I wanted.

I did have snaplinksplus-2.2.1-fx+sm.xpi installed in the particular Profile. Perhaps some interference with that?

Hadn't realized I "gestured" & no it did not revert to normal.
Until I realized what was going on, that it was FlashGot, & related to a gesture, at that point, I specifically gestured & with that done, it did return a normal cursor. And then I (inadvertently) ran into again a couple more times, but knowing the cause, I just gestured & it reverted back to normal.

I did not specifically gesture at any time, I was not & had not intended to gesture, so I have to assume it was an inadvertent movement on my part?

Could you please check latest development build 1.4.3rc1 (with feedback enabled)?
Thank you!

After the fact now, but in the (limited) time I had yesterday, I did not run into problems with 1.4.3rc1.

Cursor Feedback still wrongly shown in following case:
Open any large image like http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3118/262 ... 1483_o.jpg.
Click to switch to original size.
And try use Firefox built-in autoscrolling.

[Upd] Seems like Cursor Feedback shown on any page after I start autoscrolling to bottom of page.

Looks to be resolved.

Autoscroll does not take effect if you hover a link.
And now FlashGot Cursor Feedback does not kick in if you Autoscroll.
