[RESOLVED] Google's scriptless tracking of search results

Post by 8-Bit »

Hello -

I remember a while back there was a new surrogate against Google's scriptless tracking of search results navigation added. Seems Google has changed again? Here is a picture of the quick "interstitial" I am now getting when doing a search. When the surrogate was first added, I would get the NS icon next to the first line, now I don't see that. Already reported? Not a problem?

That's an artifact of switching Google to its original scriptless version and is due to having Google.com blocked or not whitelisted and using NoScript to defeat their scriptless tracking, its a necessary "side effect" if you will at the moment.

May I suggest https://startpage.com? All of the Google, none of the scripting or privacy invasion. 8-)

Will do. Thanks! (I was using Scroogle, but that is not operational anymore). Again, thanks for the site link.

Ditto. I used Scroogle for years, but Google deliberately squashed them. One more reason I avoid Google...

And you're quite welcome. Pass it on. :)
