I usually Google for stuff like this, but Google is really messing their stuff up. Long story short, they should just bring back Google Classic without the stupid logos, fonts, and the 'new' search algorithms so that it doesn't show me a bunch of youtube videos whenever the word 'Youtube' is in the search terms

I previously had NS set up in a way so that Youtube videos didn't buffer or play when loading the page, there was a big yellow rectangle with the NS logo and the video started when I clicked on it. I absolutely loved that. Unfortunately I can't figure out for the life of me how to set it up to get that configuration again. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please let me know how I can set this up again. Thanks!

Or you could use https://startpage.com, which includes Google results while protecting your privacy, and doesn't have most of that garbage.

General Flash video blocking: NoScript Options > Embeddings > Forbid ("everything" is safest) Adobe Flash, <audio>/<video>, <IFRAME>.
Then either check "Apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too", or remove YouTube from your whitelist.

Hint: You can leave ytimg.com in the whitelist, should you like. Then you need to temp-allow only youtube.com when you choose to do so.
Click placeholder and OK to play.

NOTE: As YT converts to all-HTML5 content vs. Flash, you may have to go to the Blocked Objects menu instead of the placeholder. Look for the one that starts with "Temp allow video-ogg@http -- etc., with some random numbers in the middle. (They'll be specific to that video at that time.) There was a whole thread on this, but that's the gist, so no need to read the whole thing.

You're very welcome.

And yes, I do all my searching from the privacy-respecting search engine, and only use Google when those here post questions about it.
