Since yesterday (21.03.20212 ca. 14:00h brazilian time/18:00h german time) with NoScript 2.3.5 and 2.3.6rc1 on a Windows 7 Firefox 11 system the facebook startpage and the personal page shows nothing than the "About us / Impressum" line. Also all buttons in the facebook security options do not work. To solve the problem I had to deactivate NoScript. To global allow JavaScript does not help.

At the same time the problem appeared on a Windows XP SP3 Firefox 11 system with NoScript 2.3.5rc6.

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id ... ef=tn_tnmn
white page with "Facebook © 2012 · Deutsch Über uns · Werbung · Seite erstellen · Entwickler · Karrieren · Datenschutz · Impressum/Nutzungsbedingungen · Hilfe"
or
white page with "Facebook © 2012 · Português (Brasil) Sobre · Anúncios · Crie uma página · Desenvolvedores · Carreiras · Privacidade · Termos · Ajuda"

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn ( deactivated facebook option "use https if possible" ) does not work either.

I have XP with Fx 3.6.28, NS 2.3.6rc1, and am not seeing a problem.

Code: Select all

https://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn
Allow, or temporarily allow, facebook.com and fbcnd.net. Login/Sign Up page displays with the proper fields to do either.

Code: Select all

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id ... ef=tn_tnmn
Long links (URLs) get cut short by phpBB forum software. Please post them in URL tags or code tags, sorry. It's PHP's problem.
http://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn ( deactivated facebook option "use https if possible" ) does not work either.
Also works fine. Clicking

Code: Select all

 # Português (Brasil)
directs to that login page, and hand-typing

Code: Select all

http://pt-br.facebook.com/login.php

also produces a log-in page.

I'll try these on Fx 11 in a little bit. I don't have an account, so can't test the personal pages, but the login and sign up seem fine.

Are you remembering to allow fbcdn.net (FaceBook Content Delivery Network)? ... See the middle part of NoScript Quick Start Guide, titled "Updated 25 Jan 2012" for the growing use of secondary servers/domain names to serve a site's logos, images, and other "static" content -- that which does not change often.

Also, do you have RequestPolicy add-on? If so, you must allow requests from Facebook to fbcdn.

On Firefox 11.0:

Code: Select all

https://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn
displays the login and sign-up fields properly even before any scripting is enabled, although I'm sure that one would have to allow facebook and fbcdn to go any farther. (I have no account and no desire to sign up.)

Code: Select all

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn

also displays fine, and clicking the Brazilian link produces the proper login and register fields as well.

I am not seeing any issue on my end and I am using the same versions. I am certain it is NOT a NoScript issue. Try the following:

1. Check to see if you have RequestPolicy installed that you have a source/destination of facebook.com to fbcdn.net allowed.
2. Check to see if you have Adblock Plus installed that you don't have Fanboy's annoyances installed or Antisocial list installed or it will cause issues.
3. Check to see if you have the addon SocialFixer (previously BetterFacebook) installed as the new Timeline that is being shoved down people's through is causing issues.

Otherwise, you might need to clear your cache, dump your cookies, and try again. If still nothing, create a fresh profile with just NoScript to see that it works fine, and then look into the possibility that your profile might be corrupted causing issue. Also would recommend you dump your LSO (Flash cookies) to ensure that any stored data that you might have intentionally or by default allowed, goes way and see if that resolves it for you. Otherwise, can't tell you what's going on without being at your machine but its not NoScript.

Hi Tom and GµårÐïåñ,

sorry my post was unclear. The problem appeared after the Facebook-Login. And it appeared out of the blue. I didn't change anything at the mentioned systems. The only solution at that time was to disable NoScript.

Today I found a computer with Window XP professional and Firefox 4. I installed NoScript and didn't change the default options. I logged in and my (personal) startpage was shown as usual. Thereby I recognized that Facebook redirect my Login facebook.com/login.php?email=xxxx@gmail.com to facebook.com/login.php?email=xxxx@gmail ... noscript=1 and set a Cookie noscript to value 1.

Then I logged in to Facebook at my unchanged Win7 system and got the white page. After setting the NoScript options to default and refresh the Facebook site the problem disappeared.

Then I logged in to Facebook at my unchanged WinXP system without getting a white page.

My résumé:
1. This was definitely a temporary Facebook bug.
2. To Login in Facebook and to show the basic things at the (personal) startpage like posted text and pictures doesn't need scripts.

Thanks and regards,
Eggi

@Eggi, I am glad it resolved for you. When you go to a facebook notification sent to your email directly, and you are not logged in, it takes you to a slightly different redirect to log in and that sometimes causes problems, specially with certain apps. Anyway, glad you got it to work out and are ok now, definitely a temporary glitch on their side.
