Feature Request: block 30x redirects

I was wondering if you had considered the ability to block 30x redirects on untrusted sites. With the rise of sites like Twitter, I'm seeing more and more link shortening services that leverage 30x redirections. It'd really like to be able to catch those and see where I'm being redirected before it happens.

You can select in Firefox options (Advanced->General) to check the box that stops and warns you that a page is about to be redirected or reloaded. You can also have a more tight control using blacklist/whitelist scheme by using RefreshBlocker addon.

You can also change the preference network.http.redirection-limit to 0 or 1. Anything worth using should only be implement at most 1 redirect. You'll need it at 1 or 2 to watch youtube videos.

The default is 20, which I think is ridiculous. 20 redirects? Seriously, Mozilla?

There are other extensions that come in handy. Try Request Policy - it stops 30x redirects immediately.

Those are good suggestions too. For me personally, I use RequestPolicy and it effectively stops it, despite being a little too aggressive for regular users and not 100% bug free yet.
