[ClearClick] Amazon Music Feels Heavy?

Amazon Music Feels Heavy?

Amazon: zekuhl

Pressing the Preview/Pause button ... seems ... heavy? slow to respond? sometimes I miss the "click"?

New mouse, new Aurora, new NoScript, new Flash. That's all given.
And then could be changes on Amazon's site too?

I get this on a page load:

Code: Select all

Error: swfobject.getObjectById(Mp3Interface.flashPlayerId).getState is not a function
Source file: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-music&field-keywords=zekuhl&x=0&y=0
Line: 5325
Line: 5325

Code: Select all

                return swfobject.getObjectById(Mp3Interface.flashPlayerId).getState();
This may be more noticeable if you click Play, then place focus above the Play button (so outside of Flash) & then move back & click Pause.

Yes this is definitely there & definitely noticeable.
Regression (even if for "security", ClearClick reasons).
Putting 2.2.9rc2 (as it was) in place of 2.3.4rc1, it's day & night.

(SeaMonkey Aurora & FF 10)

With 2.2.9rc2 I get the same Error Console message, so that is likely immaterial.

On a page like this, The Bambi Molesters, the Pause/Play button works better. Though the page tab (the tab itself) does show a lot of "flickering" as it loads?

(Thinking this part is the page itself.)

Both pages work fine for me.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:10.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.2
NoScript 2.3.4rc1

Yes both pages work.
It is just "how" they work. And by default, that is poorly.

Disabling ClearClick on trusted pages makes it work better.

That is, not poorly. Then again, I've never used Amazon Music before, so I wouldn't know if it's supposed to feel lighter. Wait a minute. I'll see what it's like on a clean profile.

Edit: I see it now. There's a slight hesitation when clicking on the Play/Pause button in the first link that isn't present in a clean profile.

Alternative enable/disable ClearClick on trusted pages, click the Flash Play/Pause button & you will see, "feel", the difference.

(Refresh the page after enable/disable.)

If you do not move the mouse cursor away from the Play button, it may not be too noticeable, but still is.
Suppose it's because it doesn't have to "recompute".

Though in particular if you move the mouse away from the Play button, giving focus to some other part of the page, then returning back to the Play button, it does have to recompute & that is quite expensive it seems. To the point of being annoying.
