With this link "Automatically reload affected pages when permissions change" doesn't work:
https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/ ... stall-beta
I've allowed JavaScript for addons.mozilla.org, but this site needs JS for static-ssl-cdn.addons.mozilla.net to be allowed too. Don't ask, why it's not allowed, just take it as an example.
Again: automatically reload doesn't work, and even worse, manually reload doesn't as well.
It only works, when the "#install-beta" is removed from the URL.

Re: Automatically Reload not working with special Link
Might be specific to SeaMonkey, I don't have a copy ready to test, @therube, you think you can take a look and see why? IIRC, you have SM, right? In Fx, I see no issue as you described.

Re: Automatically Reload not working with special Link
It's a bug in this forum. As you discovered, the workaround is to wrap the url with url tags.Mc wrote:Oh, the link worked in Preview, weird.

Edit: I mean the problem with the link previewing properly but being mangled when subsquently posted is a bug.

Re: Automatically Reload not working with special Link
That issue being moot now, since the OP posted the link again since they couldn't edit it as guest (I went ahead and did that for you by the way), any idea why they are encountering the issue they posted about? I personally don't have access to a copy of SM to find out and since not reproducible on Fx, was hoping SM specific issue can be ruled out but therube is unusually quiet and absent on this topic which I was hoping would benefit from the regular use of SM. I would suggest that you try a clean profile and do standard diagnostics in the meantime to rule out any interference from other addons.Alan Baxter wrote:It's a bug in this forum. Re: Automatically Reload not working with special Link
I tried the site now in a dev version of SeaMonkey with nearly the same profile and there all works well.
Where it doesn't work the site isn't opened with the tagged part on top, so it may be indeed a bug, an incompatibility or any setting causing this. Weird anyway.

Re: Automatically Reload not working with special Link
I looked when you first posted & saw no difference between SeaMonkey (2.9) or FF 10 or FF 3.6 or IE 8, & with or without extensions enabled.
Though I don't understand what I'm supposed to see or not see, or what is to happen or not?
Is the page supposed to jump to "#install-beta" (an "anchor"), or is the "Development Channel" dropdown supposed to expand, or is nothing at all supposed to display when you attempt to load the page, or ?
> the site isn't opened with the tagged part on top
What do you mean by that?
Edit: Actually IE 8 is jumping down to where I would assume the tag to be. (Don't recall it doing that yesterday?)

I'll also note that AMO does not look to use "named anchors", at least not that Named Anchors detects (in the form of <a name="anchor_name"></a>.)
Though if you look at Page Info, Links, you'll see a lot of things they call "Anchors".

Re: Automatically Reload not working with special Link
Thank you for confirming it was just a settings or internal bug and not a wider issue.Mc wrote:I tried the site now in a dev version of SeaMonkey with nearly the same profile and there all works well.

@therube, thanks for checking, I just wanted to rule it out and knew that you use it regularly enough that you would know better if it was. Thanks for checking and it seems it was a moot and unrelated issue, so will mark it as such.
