I use NoScript 2.2.7 on Nightly. Some sites (with a pretty overloaded HTML structure + with some userscripts working on it through Scriptish) - cause ~30sec UI freezes:
it takes about 30 sec to paint the site properly and finally open it.
After that - browser's UI gets unfrozen and the site is pretty usable and no lags are seen.
But if you manage to reload that tab - the browser will start reloading the page and it will cause the same freeze to happen again.

Win7sp1, HW on.

I tried disabling addons and when I disable NoScript - it starts working fine.
If NS is working and I turn all styles off in stylish + turn all scripts off in Scriptish and reload that page - it will still cause that freeze, so it's definitely NoScript that causes that freeze on that site.

p.s.: posting the url is useless, as this site is a closed community with no open registration.

oh and by the way I didn't even use my custom NoScript's settings - I believe it has default ones.

though I can just upload that's main page if that helps.

Please, fix this.

Possibly, but not necessarily. An extension conflict or profile corruption could also be responsible, as in this topic.

To determine whether NS is the culprit, create a clean profile, install only NS, in its latest version, leaving all the defaults in both Firefox and NoScript.

Yes it does. On a clean profile with only noscript installed with 1 change from default settings: I did turn on "globally enable scripts (dangerous)".
Well, the freeze is not 30 sec, but still happens.

Thank you. Does it happen on supported releases (9.01 or 3.6.25 at the moment) as well as on Nightly? Let's see if it could be a bug in Nightly.

Works fine on 9.0.1.

works fine on latest Aurora too.

If I understand you correctly, the issue does *not* happen on Firefox 9.01 or Aurora, correct?

If so, could you please report this as a possible bug in Nightly, and let us know the response?

ETA: I will also notify Giorgio, and ask him to double-check for any possible incompatibility between NoScript and Nightly.

Of course even just attempting to fix this is impossible unless you give me either access to the offending page (by PM) or you manage to reproduce on a different public page (perhaps by downloading the whole page including its embeddings, e.g. via File|Save page as...).

Rats. I came back to add that exact same thought, but not in time.

It was time for my session here to end, and my mind was not functioning fully. Apologies to both IDrugoy and Giorgio.

strange, but today I turned NoScript on to test again - and the issue seems to have gone. Maybe it's because of some changes is Nightly for the last couple of days, or maybe it will show up later.

maybe due to some scripts on that page - but when noscript is enabled - it loads (now without UI freeze) a bit different then how it does without noscript:
the page is pretty huge, so it loads not fast, but with noscript - the main content gets drawn only when the page is ready to finish loading.
Without noscript - page's main content gets drawn way faster and way earlier before the page loading process finishes completely.

p.s.: while writing this post I visited that site a few times more and now freezes are back again
p.p.s.: didn't restart the browser, but after opening that site again - I experienced no freeze this time.
so there is something strange happening, the bug is not 100% reproducible, but when I'll reproduce it again - I'll try to save the page and load it from a local place to see if the bug happens again.

As Giorgio said, can you reproduce this on *any* other site -- especially, one that's open to the world?

If not, have you considered the possibility of site coding errors? We've seen that many times, even with online banking.
I'd link to a few, but there are so many.

If it happens *only* at this site and nowhere else, I suspect the site. As Giorgio said, PM him access to it, or send the entire page as a folder.
Else, contact the sitemaster. S/he may have some insight. The additional information posted really isn't going anywhere, so doing it repeatedly is probably a dead end.
