I'm having a weird problem that seems to be caused by NoScript. Every so often, Firefox will stop responding to most of my clicks. Maybe 1 click in 10 will actually register. This only affects web pages; I can interact with the browser's chrome normally, but I will usually have to click any link or button several times before it registers. Only the mouse is affected; I can still interact with web pages using keyboard commands. Also, it only affects left-clicks. I can right- and middle-click with problem. This happens intermittently, with no apparent pattern. Sometimes it will happen as soon as Firefox starts, sometimes it will take as long as a day to start having problems. Once the problem occurs, I have to restart the browser before it will go away.
I'm pretty sure that this is being caused by NoScript, because disabling it seems to stop the problem from occurring. It's hard to be completely certain, because of the intermittent nature of the problem, but I didn't experience the problem for a few days while NoScript was disabled. As soon as I re-enabled it, the problem came back. I've had the problem in Firefox 8 and 9 with NoScript 2.2.5 and 2.2.5rc4.
Has anyone else seen anything like this? I've searched and searched, but haven't found anyone else having quite the same problem. I'd really appreciate any help.

Please try Standard Diagnostic, and advise the results.
Or just create a clean profile, add only the latest NoScript, and see if the problem persists. Then we'll go from there.

Re: NoScript blocks most clicks
If you have tools like Ghostery or even Adblock Plus, their efforts to block "web bugs" might and often does break functionality as many now require the stat collection as part of the user interaction. So need to look into possible surrogates, which Ghostery is FINALLY getting to but its very unstable and sporadic, so maybe we can use the existing NS surrogate system to compensate. Not sure if its doable in your case but worth looking into. But do what @Tom said first.

Re: NoScript blocks most clicks
I created a new profile with just NoScript and had no problems. So I'm guessing it must be an interaction with another extension that's causing this.Tom T. wrote:Please try Standard Diagnostic, and advise the results.

Interesting that you should mention those extensions, because I have both of them installed. Looks like my next step will be to check them out. Thanks!GµårÐïåñ wrote:If you have tools like Ghostery or even Adblock Plus, their efforts to block "web bugs" might and often does break functionality as many now require the stat collection as part of the user interaction. You're welcome, and we'll mark this as unrelated to NoScript.
Thanks for reporting back.
