[RESOLVED] NS toolbar button doesn't appear in firefox 9

Post by hael »

Hello everybody

http://noscript.net/features
A set of toolbar buttons is also provided:

Main NoScript toolbar button
By clicking it you will toggle the forbidden/allowed state of the top-most site in the current page, i.e. the one displayed in your address bar. Also, if you click the tiny arrow near the main NoScript toolbar button, the usual NoScript menu will be dropped down.
Temporarily allow all this page toolbar button
Revoke temporary permissions toolbar button

Q: I cannot find the NoScript toolbar button. Where is it?
A: Right+click on any toolbar and choose the "Customize" menu item.
A window will appear where you'll find the NoScript button: just drag and drop it on the toolbar you prefer.
Hello i read this and i know that works with Firefox 7 and Firefox 8 but now i don't have the "Main NoScript toolbar button" in Firefox 9 !!

how could i get it please ?

The "tiny arrow" part is obsolete. I'll ask Giorgio to edit that section accordingly, thanks.

That way.

Or, to go to the FAQ quoted, but not quite far enough,

Temporarily allow all this page toolbar button
Revoke temporary permissions toolbar button
See the very next sentence:
To install these buttons, just right click on any Firefox toolbar and select the Customize menu item, the drag the one(s) you want from the buttons palette onto your chosen toolbar.
In other words, when you right-click a toolbar and click "Customize", there will be the above NoScript buttons in the window or palette or whatever.
*You may have to scroll down to see them*, but they're there. Left-click on the ones you want, and drag them to the desired place on the toolbar.

Please let us know if this works, or if you need further help.

i found the solution , here it is :

in fact i just click on Firefox menu -> Options -> Add-on Bar (Ctrl + /)
then
right click on any Firefox toolbar and select the Customize menu item, and then i drag the NoScript button from the bottom bar to the navigation toolbar

I don't see such an option; perhaps it's Win7-specific? ... Just r-clicking the existing toolbar works for me.
But if you're happy, we're happy. :)

You're very welcome, and I'll mark this as resolved.

thank you so much for that hael! that completely solved my problem as well.

i read all the solutions in the faq, but the main noscript button simply never apeared in the "customize" menu. only the "temporarily allow all on this page" and the "revoke temp allows" buttons were there. after letting firefox show the add-on bar and then opening the "customize" menu, i could drag the main noscript button from the add-on bar to the navigation bar, as described above by hael.

it does not seem to be windows 7 specific to me, i am running firefox 15.0.1 in windows xp sp3.

it might be good to add this solution to the faq, as the normal solution does not work if (for some reason) the main noscrip button does not apear in the "customize" menu.
maybe something like:
if the main noscript button does not appear in the "customize" menu itself, you can drag it from the add-on bar to the toolbar you like. you may need to activate the add-on toolbar before you can do this (view -> toolbars menu, or using the keycombination ctrl + /).

i almost gave up on it, as i could not find a solution anywhere searching the internet and noscript faq. only when i used the forums searchengine i found this solution. i bet there's more peeps with this problem..

anyway, thanks for the great add-on and hael thanks again for finding the solution and posting it here!
