Youtube videos do not play with NS on.

Just started happening on the Firefox updates -- running R8. All is okay until I link to a site that tries to run a Youtube video. If I disable NS, and restart it runs the video. I have played with various switches to no avail. Any body got any idea what I am (not) doing ... wrong?

What is R8?
URL of this site that you link to?

I'll assume it's Firefox (Release?) 8 -- which btw is now up to 8.01.
If the site is making a cross-site request to YouTube, there are a lot of protections in NoScript to prevent that, because sites can make requests to evil sites as well. (See, for example,
XSS FAQ.
You would have to allow YouTube.com and ytimg.com, if not already allowed (they're in the default whitelist). If you have
RequestPolicy, the cross-site request would have to be allowed as well. And probably scripting from the site you're on. And look in Blocked Objects in NS menu, for the YouTube .swf object, or some other listing "Allow
xxxxx@Youtube.com".
As
therube said, a site address or two would be useful. But these general steps may solve it already. Please let us know.
until I link to a site
So, you're not visiting the site with a link to YT -- you're creating your own page or link to SiteX, which in turn links to YT?
Yes, need to clarify with exact URLs and perhaps screenshots.
