How To Completely Remove FlashGot?

I installed FlashGot but then I found there is a malware -> Trojan.Malware.Win32.xPack.m. I attached the screenshot.

I already removed from Add-ons - Extensions, but when I checked my Profiles folder, I found these two files: FlashGot.exe and flashgot.txt

Beside that, when I checked Firefox about:config, I can still see many FlashGot entries there.

Please tell me how to completely remove FlashGot.

Thanks.

One out of 43, & by something called "ByteHero"?
Ever hear of "false positives"?

Perhaps you ought to submit FlashGot.exe to ByteHero & have them analyze it.

Anyhow, remove FlashGot just the same as most any other extension, from Add-ons Manager.
After that, go into your Profile directory & delete the file, FlashGot.exe.

(@G, would think that a Remove should automatically delete FlashGot.exe?)

Note that ALL (AFAIK) extensions leave their preferences in prefs.js.
(Wonder why they do that if you 'Remove' them?)

Hi therube,

It's always been Fx behaviour to conserve User Set prefs after uninstall, but not default ones - in my experience. Not a bad thing for Fx to leave User settings alone, I think.
The user who wants to tidy up prefs *that have nothing left installed to work on* simply has to either edit them out of their prefs.js file or to use about:config to change "reset" them. Context clicking the preference brings up this option. After a reset, the reset prefs are deleted at the next restart.
