I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if it might be related to Noscript somehow. I'm running Firefox version 8.01 on Leopard. NoScript is version 2.2. I am not running any other extensions or add-ons other than NoScript.

Everytime that I go to the "clear recent history" menu link and clear everything that can be checked Firefox looks like it closes but keeps the menu bar up top. When I scroll over the menu bar, I just get a beach ball. I can force quit Firefox. However, here is the strange thing. I can shutdown the Macbook pro, and even after that, Firefox will do the same thing the next time (and only the next time) that I close it. After that, it's fine until I clear everything again.

The first thing to do is to see whether in fact this is related to NoScript.

Create a clean profile from scratch. Don't install NoScript or anything else. Use default settings for Firefox.
For safety's sake, disconnect from the Internet.

Does the issue still happen? If so, it's a Firefox issue, probably.
If you need some "history" to "clear", visit your online bank or other highly-trusted site that is HTTPS secured. Then see if it happens.

If it doesn't happen, then install *only* NoScript in this new profile. Leave the default settings here, also.
If it still doesn't happen, the previous profile was probably corrupt. Return to your chosen settings, but don't copy any files from this possibly-corrupt profile.

If clean profile + NoScript produces the issue, open Firefox Tools > Web Developer > Error Console.
Click the red Error logo. Copy all Error messages and paste them here, please.
Also click the blue "Messages" logo. Look for any that might relate to NoScript. Most would start with [NOSCRIPT]. Paste those here also.
