Noscript blocks everything everytime no matter what I do

I have been using Noscript with Firefox (now version 8.0) for two years with no problems, but now it's become almost impossible. (It also does not seem to be updating automatically, and I can't tell what version I have, as all it says is 2.2 on the add-ons page, and I know I just installed 2.2.1 manually). It just keeps blocking every page of a site even though I keep hitting "Allow all this page" as I always have - on my credit card sites, or on my cell phone account site, or any shopping site on which I have an account, as soon as it switches to another page for me to continue logging in or to pay my bill or check my account or anything else within the trusted site, it is blocked again, either with the small red icon or fully. This was never an issue before. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still am getting this behavior. Is this by new design? It is really frustrating. Any insight would be helpful, thanks.

Not by design.
Might you have enabled Options | Advanced -> HTTPS => Always?
If you disable all other extensions except for NoScript ...?
If you do a Reset (backup your settings first if needed) ...?

Thanks for your reply! Advanced Https options are Never, not Always. Trying a reset now but I assumed uninstalling and reinstalling would have been sufficient...? Will report back..

Have you considered malware on your computer?

I would be amazed at malware that forces Noscript to block every page on a site, seems kind of counter-productive
I also noticed that "Make page permissions permanent" or to that effect is not in the right click options menu or the options menu when I click on the icon, but I have it checked to show. Basically, Noscript isn't allowing anything anyplace unless I click "Allow all this page" about five or six times on each page of a site, or allow each blocked item individually until the page is functional where I can enter login info or view images or comments, etc.. CBS, ABC, and any news site, Facebook, Amazon, Ebay, credit card payment sites, etc., https or not, no malware, no new add-ons, and I do not want to stop using Noscript but am not sure if this is normal behavior anymore or not. Can someone please tell me Noscript's behavior in their case when they go to a site like Ebay or Amazon on a regular basis as a regular customer, or what happens on a trusted credit card site when they only go there once a month? I see Noscript blocking a lot of advertising links and such as it always did but now it is affecting functionality of every site I normally visit. I hope I am making myself clear. I am wondering if this has anything to do with clearing the cache in Firefox on closing, although I never lose any Firefox settings, it just seems that Noscript no longer remembers any settings for any trusted sites. Thanks for reading all this and for the previous replies!

Something is definitely wrong. The actions you describe are not at all expected. I have no problem with using NS at any site, on F3 or F8.
Malware can do *anything* - even things unintended by its "author". It was just a thought, to do a complete system scan with a trusted AV and malware detector.
I would suggest
Standard Diagnostic, or at the very least, create a clean
profile, install *only* NoScript, and see if it works OK. There is a strong possibility of a profile corruption.

No, I clear *everything* upon closing. Doesn't affect NS settings.
Do you use any kind of sandbox or virtual machine? If so, there will need to be write permissions through to the hard drive to save all changes made during a session. Also, updates will have to be done non-sandboxed. I use Sandboxie (not endorsing, just MHO), and all of the previous applies. Otherwise, everything would be lost, as you are experiencing. (including updates)

Do you have any addon that either directly and intentionally, or perhaps by virtue of a virtual layer create some kind of proxy in this
profile? That could wreak some havoc on the JS layer, specially depending how enforced. Or better yet, anything else that either injects, controls, modifies, or in any way changes/uses JS blocking per-tab or globally?
1. It sounds like a serious interference by another addon,
2. It seems that you might consider NoScript Options|Reset (make sure to export your settings for NS so you don't lose them, or start over, your call),
3. Try with a
profile that has just NS on it and nothing else,
4. Finally, try in the same
profile but disable everything else and see if that helps,
those are pretty much the only possibilities inside your browser, since you are certain its not malware or an external factor (such as plugin, or global addon by third party).
