I recently got a virus on ym computer from visiting google images. Some how it gets downloaded via a java exploit, and i never know anything til i see the java icon in the taskbar, and by then its too late.
I dont wanna have java even installed, but i need it for some things such as minecraft.
So someone suggested getting noscript addon for firefox that'll stop java from auto running, but the problem is i dont need any of the other features. I want javascript and everything to be left alone.
Is there a way to use noscript to only block stuff that needs the java program /applet thing to actually run? I think i'll be safe with only that.
thanks
use noscript to only block java from running? not javascript

- In the NoScript Options|Embeddings|Additional restrictions for untrusted sites section uncheck everything except "Forbid Java"
- Check "Apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too" (just below)
- Check NoScript Options|General|Scripts Globally Allowed (dangerous)
No you won't. This line of thinking is like vaccinating only against viruses you already got.blank wrote:I think i'll be safe with only that.
