copying settings to laptop

I fired up a spare computer today so I can do some work on my desktop. I dragged my Firefox profile folder over so everything would be like it was. However, for some reason, NoScript doesn't remember any of the website's I previously allowed. I read the FAQ, and was able to use the export and import feature from the General Options tab, but in the future, I'd rather not have to remember to do that.

Why isn't copying my Firefox profile folder sufficient? Are the allowed websites stored elsewhere?

Thanks!

Don't know, it should just do the trick. Did your prefs.js file get lost or corrupted in the process, maybe?

Absolutely not. They're stored in your prefs.js file together with all the other Firefox and extensions settings.

Thanks for prompt reply. I did copy prefs.js. In hindsight, I think the problem may have been that NS wasn't installed on the other computer. I just copied all the files and folders. That seemed to work fine as an "installation" method, except for the missing whitelist. The export / import feature took care of that. Next time I have to use the other computer, I'll check to make sure any recent additions show up in the whitelist.
