Bitcomet 1.28 not working with Flashgot 1.3.0.6

I've installed flashgot into firefox for the first time and I'm trying to use it with bitcomet. Problem is that nothing happens with bitcomet when I try to download files using flashgot.

I've read about similar problems in this forum with earlier versions if BC and Flashgot and tried the suggestions there, but without success. Can anyone help me solve this problem? It does this consistently on two computers that I've installed flashgot.

1. "Check for updates" from BitComet reports 1.27 as the most up-to-date version
2. It works for me, as long as Internet Explorer integration is installed
