How to know which script you want to allow?

Hi, I am a novice at computers. Since recovering from viruses and a highjacking recently, I use and I like Noscript, it has saved me many times I am sure.
Please help me to use it better than I do and to understand it better. My question toady is: when I visit a site, such as news sites or TV station web sites, many of the images and video sections are blocked. When i click on NoScript options button a whole list of blocked script is displayed some times 10 or 20!
I have no idea which won to allow? Is there a means to have the blocked video sections of the web site display the script needed? so then i could look up the blocked script in no scripts list, and know for sure that was the safe one to allow so i could see the video or what ever.
I am sure I have not explained this well seeing how i don't know the surfing lingo , but, I appreciate all attempts to help me.
Thank you

Temporarily Allow the top-level site. Then click on the placeholder for any of the videos that you want to see. If that isn't enough, you can try temporarily allow all this page. That's usually safe enough on a mainstream site. Do you have one url which is particularly problematic? We may be able to give you more specific help in that case.

Don't forget middle-click (or shift+click) on menu entries, giving additional info about unknown domains.

I have a further question now, and that is i tried the tip of :

middle click on menu entries..... but for me, nothing was happening. perhaps I was not clicking at the correct spot / item ? Would you expand on your instructions please.
Thanks :)

That would be the list of domain names from the "NoScript options button" (not a "menu entry" per se).
