First, thank you for your FlashGot program. I just started using it today.
Software: Windows XP MCE 2005 SP3 (32-bit), Firefox 5.0, FlashGot 1.3.1, JDownloader 0.9581.
I have not tried Filesonic, but I encountered the problem with "dirrecthttp" links at the E-Hentai Galleries website at <
http://g.e-hentai.org>.
*Warning* Every page on this site has X-rated images, even though some images are not.
The problem occurred with every link I tried on this site.
One example is the "Deus Ex Human Revolution - Design Work" page at <
http://g.e-hentai.org/g/408735/9255c25e14/>.
There are 20 thumbnails on that page, with numbered links to the original images ranging from "01" to "20" below the images.
Clicking on the "01" link connects to <
http://g.e-hentai.org/s/1b48bea69e/408735-1> which displays the original image.
Using Firefox's built-in downloader, the "Save Image" window shows "File name: 001.jpg" for the original image, and will successfully download it. The image file is 59KB.
Unfortunately, the original image cannot be downloaded if FlashGot is used to send it to either (1) JDownloader, or (2) FlashGot's built-in browser.
Here are the steps used with FlashGot and JDownloader set as default downloader.
1. In Firefox, right-click on "01" link
2. In context menu, click "FlashGot Link"
3. In "FlashGot (JDownloader)" window,
a. enter "Destination folder: C:\Downloads\Test"
b. click OK
4. In JDownloader, "Download" tab, note the following expanded item:
Package/Filename Host Status Progress
[-] FlashGot[1] [directhttp]
408735-1 DH directhttp File not found Unknown file size
Except for the file name, this is the same as that posted by Moabutah (original poster) in this thread at Sat Aug 13, 2011 10:46 am.
5. In "C:\Downloads\Test" folder, note no file downloaded.
Here are the steps used with FlashGot and its built-in browser set as default downloader.
1. In Firefox, right-click on "01" link
2. In context menu, click "FlashGot Link"
3. In "FlashGot (Browser Built In)" window,
a. enter "Destination folder: C:\Downloads\Test"
b. click OK
4. In "C:\Downloads\Test" folder, note "408735-1" (no extension) file downloaded. It is 4KB compared with actual image file's 59KB.
5. Open the downloaded "408735-1" using Windows Notepad, and find it is a text file. However, I don't have the knowledge to understand it.
The "ImageHost Grabber" add-on for Firefox will directly download all the original images linked on the webpage with one-click and without using FlashGot. However, I don't think it will help Moabutah who was probably trying to download archive files from Filesonic. See <
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... t-grabber/>.
I found an article about a script to convert the <g.e-hentai.org> links into a form that supposedly can be used by FlashGot. However, Greasemonkey (another Firefox add-on) must be installed first in order to install the script. See "g.e-hentai.org downloader Fixed" at <
https://www.userscripts.org/scripts/show/54463> and the "How do I use this?" link under the "Install button" for details, including source code.
I haven't tried this multi-layer of add-ons. Greasemonkey to g.e-hentai.org script to FlashGot to JDownloader. Seems like a long, and possibly fragile, way to go. Also, the script is over 2 years old, so I don't know if it's still good.
Assuming the g.e-hentai.org script works, I'm hoping you might be able to incorporate it into FlashGot without users (like me) needing to separately install Greasemonkey and the script. If not, I'll try the "Rube Goldberg" ("Heath Robinson") approach.
If the script actually works to convert the "directhttp" links for FlashGot, it may also solve the Moabutah's problem with Filesonic.
Thank you.
