[RESOLVED] FlashGot causing Firefox to hang shutting down
Posted: Wed Aug 10, 2011 5:22 am
Windows 7 x64 SP0
Firefox 5 (x86)
FlashGot 1.3.0.4
Comodo Firewall/Antivirus (x64)
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open FF5 with FlashGot installed.
2. Start the Task Manager to see that firefox.exe is running.
3. Close FF5.
What happens:
FF5 hangs for several seconds and Comodo's going wild (cmdagent.exe).
What should happen:
FF5 should shutdown normally instead of hanging for 8+ seconds.
=====
Now, I also have several other plugins/addons installed, but I was able to narrow it down to FlashGot being the cause. Whenever I disabled it, FF would shutdown normally (just like if I was using SafeMode with no addons running), but when I would re-enable it, the hanging would return the next time I shutdown FF in conjunction with "cmdagent.exe".
I also tested this with 1.3.0.5 (un-reviewed) from the FF Addon site and the problem still happens.
Now, I don't know if a recent AV update from Comodo is the cause of this (or for some freak chance, the Windows updates today), but I thought I would post it here first.
