It's been a few days since switching from Firefox 3.6 to 5.0 and I am trying to get the UI to look and act like before currently. So one step was to transform the add-on bar into what was previously the status-bar.
NoScript has two differently behaving buttons for those toolbars. The status-bar button did not require me make an additional click to change permissions. Upon clicking "allow page", the page would reload and the menu would close. Now I have to close the menu myself - only then will the page reload. This would be less annoying with noscript.hoverUI turned on, but I'd prefer it to stay disabled.
Can the add-on bar button be tuned to behave like the good old status-bar button?

I don't know if that's going to happen. In the meantime, you can get that behavior by right-clicking the button. That's what I do.
