No audible alerts in Gmail

Although I have google.com on my whitelist, I don't get audible chat notifications when NoScript is enabled. Disabling it altogether helps. Google search turns nothing, although a temporary fix is proposed
here, but I don't know where to enter that string - and I'd prefer a permanent solution. This has been the case for several versions of FF.
Any hints?

GMail uses Adobe Flash to play sounds, so if you if block Flash and you have the checkbox "Apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too" ticked then the alerts won't play. You will also notice that the the NoScript icon looks like

and not

and you will find a "Blocked Objects" submenu in the NoScript menu (unless you turned it off in the appearance options).
Adding "shockwave-flash@https://mail.google.com" to the about:config entry noscript.allowedMimeRegExp might help (not tested).

I added that as a string to the entry in about:config, but it didn't help.
Any other ideas?

Was I correct with my assumptions about the NoScript icon and did it change after you followed my advice?

Yes and no: NoScript icon had a star before and after adding the string in about:config.

Now it's possible in the latest dev build of NoScript:
