[Resolved] enable javascript on Medicare.gov site - again

I experienced this before and received advice to type in the site http://www.medicare.gov in the address bar and it appeared to work. It's not working anymore. When I go to the site I get a message saying that the page couldn't load because it requires javascript. I temporarily allowed the medicare.gov site, closed the browser to remove any of it's session cookies, allowed medicare.gov again and typed into the address bar. I even upgraded from NoScript 2.1.1 to 2.1.1.2. I don't understand why if I allowed the medicare.gov site it can't find the javascript.

Is there a way I can get the javascript to work on this site without disabling NoScript?

Sincerely, Libra

Could you try the following:
  1. Export your configuration (NoScript Options|Export)
  2. Use NoScript Options|Reset
  3. Open http://www.medicare.gov/
  4. Hover NoScript's icon and choose "Allow medicare.gov"
  5. Open again http://www.medicare.gov/ (either by following this link or by typing on the address bar)
Good luck and let me know

That procedure works for me. Hope it does for the OP too.

I exported NoScript and reset it. When I went to medicare.gov and allowed medicare.gov that page appeared properly. I then clicked on a link and got the message to enable javascript again. I took a screenshot of both pages and I hovered over NoScript to show what is listed.

This picture shows javascript enabled.

The above picture shows the request for javascript on a link I clicked on.

Is there anything else I can do?

When should I import my settings back? Also, I can't find the web bug setting which I did have checked.

I also upgraded to version 2.1.22 after I first posted.

Thank you.

Sincerely, Libra

I can confirm what you're seeing.
Though it looks to be a cookie issue.

Verizon does/did something similar, something like storing the status of JavaScript in a cookie. Such that after hitting a "nojs" page, setting a cookie that you don't have JavaScript enabled, it does not reset/delete the cookie, so even after Allowing (medicare.gov), the particular page, https://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/qu ... /home.aspx, must query the cookie, sees "nojs", & says hey, No JS! (Which by that point in time is no longer true.)

So (after allowing medicare.gov) clear you "medicare" cookies.

Try to clear your cookies, as therube suggested.

As soon as you get it working.

Revoke Temporary Permissions
Load https://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/qu ... /home.aspx
(you'll get a message that you need JavaScript)
Allow medicare.gov
Close https://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/qu ... /home.aspx
Load https://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/qu ... /home.aspx
(you STILL get a message that you need JavaScript)
Clear medicare.gov cookies
Close https://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/qu ... /home.aspx
Load https://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/qu ... /home.aspx
(works)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Deleting the cookies worked and I was able to navigate the site. I also imported my whitelist back into NoScript.

I appreciate your help very much.
