When I use my Hotmail account, I always use "Live". I would switch out of "Live", but in order to do that, I need to allow "wlxrs" script to run and I personally don't like allowing any extra scripts access to run while I am in my Hotmail account, so I have refused to switch out of "Live".

Everything was fine until a couple of days (or so) ago, when I signed into my Hotmail account and couldn't get anything to work when I clicked on the links (Inbox, Drafts - NOTHING).

I looked at NoScript and it showed 2 scripts:
(1) Live.com - which I had allowed
(2) Wlxrs.com - which I had NOT allowed
...and there was no "Hotmail.com" choice available

I clicked on "allow wlxrs.com" and after the switch, NoScript showed the following:
(1) Live.com - still allowed
(2) Wlxrs.com - now allowed
(3) Hotmail.com - was showing and was now being allowed (simply by allowing "wlxrs")
......I then tried clicking on any link/feature in Hotmail, and NOW THEY WORKED.

I then "disallowed" wlxrs and switched back to "Live", and received the following scripts, again:
(1) Live.com - allowed
(2) Wlxrs.com - NOT allowed
...and once again, no "Hotmail.com" choice available
...and, once again, there were no clickable links/features!

I also noticed a NEW script in NoScript and tried searching for an answer as to what it was all about. It states the following:
Allow https://handlers

I've tried to check that out, but I can't find any independent information on it. Normally, I simply use the middle-click on my mouse and get access to 4 different reviewers on scripts/websites, such as MyWOT...but all I receive is this page:

QUESTION:
Is NoScript somehow blocking me from using Windows "Live" in Hotmail?
Am I supposed to start allowing this new script called "Allow https://handlers"? Does that have anything to do with blocking my usage of windows "Live"?

Looks like js.wlxrs.com is now defaulted too.
So not having xlxrs.com allowed should be OK.
Some domains may not show, until other domains have been allowed.
Thinking that hotmail.com has long been allowed by default?
handlers, I don't recall seeing, but no, I would not allow that.

I am FORCED to allow wlxrs.com script in order to switch out of the LIVE portion of Hotmail (sign OUT of Messenger) since LIVE (Messenger) does NOT work anymore. In order to sign out of Messenger, one always needs to allow usage of the wlxrs.com script.

I am using the NEWEST version of NoScript...but...this problem started just a day or two BEFORE I began using the latest version.

I am really getting irritated seeing that "blue flash" in the status bar all of the time while using the wlxrs script! I want to go back to using LIVE (with Messenger; without the wlxrs), but I can't because the links/features do NOT work in LIVE (Messenger) any longer. In order to use windows live applications, you must switch "out of wxlrs"...but at the moment, windows live just won't work.

How does this get fixed? How can I have access to LIVE (Messenger) again? Do I need to abandon NoScript altogether in order to simply use my Hotmail like I've been able to do for the last 7 years? What is NoScript doing that is interfering with Hotmail usage? Sorry, but I'm really frustrated. Help? I may have rambled too much, so if you can't understand what I said, please just tell me, ok?

P.S. I looked at my Whitelist, and wlxrs was entered there by NoScript.
I see you have written "msc.wlxrs.com", so should I also type "msc" before the wlxrs.com in the Whitelist? Will this allow me to use windows "live" once again?
What does "wlxrs" actually need a script for...do you know?

Yes, and it's not something which changed in NoScript.
I was mailed by Microsoft 3 days ago, and a guy in the Hotmail team told me some changes in their web application now required not just js.wlxrs.com (which was already in NoScript's whitelist) but also msc.wlxrs.com, which I've been asked to add because users of theirs already had problems accessing their email.

I do not understand your logic, sorry. Why don't you just keep the two wlxrs.com subdomains allowed and live (unintended pun) with it?

I will go ahead and insert "msc.wlxrs.com" into the Whitelist.

All there is currently is "wlxrs.com", so should I add "js." in front of it?

Hmmm...that's because there was NO logic behind that statement...only frustration!

If you've got "wlxrs.com", both js.wlxrs.com and msc.wlxrs.com are already implied.

WOW!!! I just discovered that Hotmail actually FIXED a problem!

In Hotmail, your name is in the upper right-hand corner, and when you hover your mouse over your name, the box pops up which includes the words:
"Sign Out of Messenger"

Well, in the past, you could click that message until you were blue in the face, but it NEVER WORKED! The only way to sign out was to click on the "wxlrs.com" script and allow it; only then you would be signed out of Messenger.

Now I see they finally fixed that link so that when you click on "Sign Out of Messenger", it actually signs you out...and you don't need to monkey around with "wlxrs.com" any longer! Isn't that amazing? I mean, the fact that Hotmail - after how many years? - has actually fixed that link and made it functional! And to be honest, I never tried using that link this last time because I figured it still didn't work! My, oh my, oh my! Yay!

I guess so: the Microsoft guy wrote me some minutes ago saying "We'll post the necessary changes for folks using NoScript."
