[RESOLVED] NS Blocks Slideshow With All Permissions Allowed
[RESOLVED] NS Blocks Slideshow With All Permissions Allowed
I've been having problems viewing slideshows at Slate.com. Currently, I'm trying to view a slideshow at "http://www.slate.com/slideshow/arts/where-are-they-now/" and even with all permissions allowed, there is nothing but a blank space. It works fine when I disable NoScript. The problem occurs with other Slate slideshows as well, however I've noticed that older slideshows sometimes work fine. Any suggestions?

Re: NS Blocks Slideshow With All Permissions Allowed
It's a configuration error in the part of slate hosted on amazonaws.com:
I worked around this in latest development build.Error Console wrote: [NoScript] Blocking cross-site Javascript served from http://slate-slideshow-prod.s3.amazonaw ... e-they-now with wrong type info application/x-octet-stream and included by http://www.slate.com/slideshow/arts/where-are-they-now/

It works! Thank you Giorgio for the fix and the speedy response.

UPDATE: It seems the development build worked on my laptop but not my desktop. All of the NoScript options are the same so I'm not sure what that means.

Did you allow both slate.com and amazonaws.com?toddomarx wrote:UPDATE: It seems the development build worked on my laptop but not my desktop. All of the NoScript options are the same so I'm not sure what that means.

I did. I also allowed the entire page to check if there was something else, but no luck. Is there something I can just copy from the profile on the one computer and paste it in the other?Giorgio Maone wrote:Did you allow both slate.com and amazonaws.com?toddomarx wrote:UPDATE: It seems the development build worked on my laptop but not my desktop. Re: NS Blocks Slideshow With All Permissions Allowed
Should an XSS notification alert have occurred?
(Seemingly after allowing slate.com && amazonaws.com.)
Could the alert be made persistent (option), until dismissed?

Re: NS Blocks Slideshow With All Permissions Allowed
Final Update: I imported the settings from the laptop into the desktop and it is now working fine. Not sure what the actual problem was as all settings were the same on each. My guess is my profile is corrupted and it's time to create a fresh one. Thanks for your help.
