I have 1.2.9.4 and Firefox 4.0.1 and my problem is that Flashgot automatically tries to download almost any kind of things such as html or php files. Is there an option to turn it off?

When does this happen?
Randomly (with no user action) or just when you use "FlashGot All"?

None of them, when I click a new link it automatically starts Orbit (it happens almost 75% of the time) and tries to download the clicked page.

Have you got FlashGot Options|Downloads|Autostart downloads checked?
If you have, please uncheck it.

Otherwise, you may have a too-jumpy mouse and need to set the flashgot.gesture about:config preference to false.

NOT SOLVED - alt least for me.

I'm having this maddening problem too. I turned flashgot.gestures off. Automatically start downloads was not selected. I just had to right click on "post a reply" and select "open in a new tab" just to get here to post this! When I disable flashgot, the problem goes away. This never happened (for years) until the last week or two. It doesn't happen all the time, but once it starts, it doesn't seem to stop. It effectively disables navigation of the web using links.

The "Preview" link here works normally, and if you see this, the "Submit" did too. Could it work right for some link types (e.g. JavaScript) and not others?

I don't know yet. Today, it works just fine. It looks as if something triggers it and then it keeps doing it. I did create a new profile with nothing but flashgot installed, but I don't know how to reliably test with it because if the problem gets triggered in the default profile, it probably won't be triggered when I start the test profile. If I can figure out what triggers it, then I can try to recreate it in the test profile, but for now, I have no idea what that is.

I had this a while back, FlashGot Opens Unexpectantly.
Never did pinpoint the cause. Though it has not reoccurred in recent memory.
