I installed NoScript to try and fix the "unresponsive script" error message I kept getting when using facebook. Probably stupidly I used the addon's 'block' option to stop scripts on facebook. Since doing this my account there has all but died. I can type a comment/reply to a friend's comment, but hitting return to submit that comment results in no action whatsoever (aside from the cursor disappearing from the comment field). If I access a friend's page and hit the 'Send Message' button, the page refreshes but with a huge blank area where the private message box should be. Trying to bring up the chat widget also results in no action whatsoever. There are other oddities too; if I try to play a youtube clip that's been embedded in a comment, it opens a duplicate of that page in a new tab, instead of simply playing the clip. Hitting the 'like' button results in the same.
I disabled the addon which didn't fix the problem, so I then uninstalled it completely, but that didn't fix the issue either. I have also, naturally, tried rebooting several times, but can only use facebook through IE now, which is a bit of a pain.
Any help/advice much appreciated.

Re: Facebook doesn't operate since installing NoScript
If disabling (or, even worse, uninstalling) the add-on didn't fix the problem, it's definitely NOT due to NoScript, even if it seems to be appeared when you installed it.
You should try Standard Diagnostic, to see whether something else is breaking it.
At any rate, Facebook works just fine with NoScript as soon as you allow facebook.com, fbcdn.net and facebook.net (or just "Allow all on this page" when you're there).

Re: Facebook doesn't operate since installing NoScript
Thanks for the reply, Giorgio. As I say I installed NoScript to try and prevent the Unresponsive Script eror message that kept popping up and freezing my browsing when using facebook. You say I should have just clicked 'allow all on this page', but surely this would mean I'd keep getting the script error?

That message may come from a 3rd party script (e.g. ads or trackers) or from another extension.
The message box itself should tell the origin of the unresponsive script: please look at it carefully if it reappears, and you'll have a hint about what's going on.

Re: Facebook doesn't operate since installing NoScript
Thanks again for the reply. I now accept I was a little hasty with my review and am going to try and edit it accordingly. I had no intention to soil the reputation of your addon.
I have no idea how I'm going to fix this (short of a system restore) but now appreciate the problem was more to do with me not fully understanding what I was doing with the addon itself.

Maybe Standard Diagnostic will help to find out what exactly is wrong with your current profile.
Either way, good luck and let us know what you find.

hello, nobody checked the links (What it is this link: "http://kb..org/" ; Sergio) ? lol
!
You do not click on links Jud ?
You did not say there is an error in all links of Sergio ...
The link does not work and you say thank you for the help to Sergio ?
Standard diagnostic - Firefox - MozillaZine Knowledge Base :
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox
To save the profile, Jud you can use 7-Zip (www.7-zip.org) software to save the firefox profile folder :
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ (Windows Vista, 7)
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ (Windows XP, Vista, 7)
Some add-ons like clipping back up data to outside the Firefox profile folder !
Clipping = Folder %USERPROFILE%\.clipbak + file %USERPROFILE%\clipdat2.rdf .
After saving the profile folder ( and the file %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles.ini ) :
You can test all the desired changes in Firefox.
(Why are we stallowned for the link to the official site of 7-Zip ? I don't like letting users search because it may fall on a fake site with virus. I know the official site can be taken over by evil people but it's better than nothing.)
Thank you.

I'm sorry, Fred. I don't have the vaguest idea what you're talking about. Your post made no sense to me whatsoever.
