[RESOLVED] NoScript update removes FFx button activity

Hello all,

I was browsing this morning trying to set up a business trip. Firefox was working as expected (version 3.6.16 - haven't upgraded to 4.0 because of lots of complaints I've seen and generally takes a while for add-ons to catch up). I closed FFx. When I reopened, I was prompted for NoScript update to 2.1.0.2. I agreed, it updated, I went on my merry way.... until I tried to go back a page. Back button was "grayed out" - inoperable; as was the menu option, any page history, the forward button, the refresh button and the stop button. I closed and restarted FFx - same behavior - any website.

Searched FFx forums and found that this is not completely uncommon and generally related to an add-on and extension - many folks had identified a McAfee security add-on as a recent culprit. I don't run that one and the only thing that had changed over the 15 minutes that the problem developed was my NoScript update.

So.... I started FFx in Safe Mode to confirm an add-on issue - check.
I started FFx regular, went into add-on management and disabled NoScript - my pretty blue buttons reappeared and function.

Another thing that I noticed, was that when I opened a link from tab A in tab B, the URL in the location bar when viewing tab B still indicated the URL typed into the bar for tab A. I noticed because I wanted to copy and paste the URL into an email message and I had to open "page info" to see it.

I don't like running my Firefox without NoScript so any info to fix this problem that you can provide would be most appreciated!

thanks

Sorry - just checked back. I'm not sure what you mean by about:plug-ins or what I should be looking for. I had not changed the plug-ins running when the buttons disappeared.

I had been having problems with my Yahoo Toolbar disappearing also. I could get it back by closing and re-opening FFX so I didn't think anything of it. I saw another thread here that said that issue had been resolved and also mentioned the back-button problem. I downloaded 2.1.0.3rc6 and that seems to have taken care of my problems.
