Java Conflict report. Current version.

Hi. Got a problem with No Script current version.
Even on a complete new Windows XP Pro SP3 installation and firefox (no other software installed), Firefox 3616 (and before versions) will exit altogether very quickly after starting while browsing any site using either Java development tool kit 6.0.240.7 NPRime script Plugin Library For Java deploy OR Java Platform SE 6 U24 6.0.204.7 Next generation Java Plugin 1.6.0_24 For Mozilla Browsers. This is listed here exactly as shown in the browsers plugins. Disable both and there's no problem as far as I can tell. If the Java Development kit and or Java Runtime for Mozilla Browsers is need (of which I don't know), then there is an issue that needs to be resolved. Do you agree?
I have not updated to FireFox4.0 at present, as I have very limited time on the computer due to ill health, hence this quick report. However, I am assuming that even updating will not resolve this issue.
Can you have a quick look at the Java Plugins please and see what issues need addressing, if any.
All the best.

I haven't experienced any conflict between Java 6U24 and NoScript NoScript 2.1.0.2 on Fx 4.0 or Fx 3.6.16. The installed Java plugins are (which appear to be the same as the ones you listed):
Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.240.7
Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U24

Could you give the url of one of your problematic sites? I can't find one that doesn't work.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0
NoScript 2.1.0.2rc2

Hi. As requested here's a few,
Your own site and forum.
Mozilla's sites.
Adobe's sites.
MozBackup utilities own site.
The list is endless.
I don't even have to attempt to do anything. Just go onto the site and leave any page up. Happens within 20 seconds.
Suddenly, firefox exits and displays its error box. That's it basically.
All the best

URLs would have been nice.

By "your own site and forum", suppose you mean http://forums.informaction.com/?
Is there even an Java usage here? Thinking not?

Is there any correlation between NoScript & your Java issues?
If you disable NoScript, do your Java issues continue? If so, then it is not a NoScript issue.

If you create a new Profile, install NoScript, & confirm that Java is enabled, do the same sites crash on you?

None of the sites you listed use Java, so it's safe for you to leave both Java plugins disabled in the Add-ons Manager.

That said, neither therube nor I have the problem you report. I don't recall anyone else reporting it either. Please post the links to your two most recent crash reports. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar to get them.

Edit:

Please do that too.

Hi. OK. So, try running firefox without doing anything with it afterwards. Just leave it there. It still happens. Dis-able No Script and all is well. Firefox will continue to run quite happily. OK, you don't need Java? There is definitely a conflict when No Script is enabled. I've let Firefox send all error reports to Mozilla, especially when it was just loaded and not doing anything. Guess they will say what's going on a little later. Oh yes, I forgot. I also got your FlashGot installed. Oppss, I forgot to disable that. Maybe its ActiveX conflict in either and nothing else. The problem has only just happed with the last 2 No Script (and may be FlashGot) updates. I don't know. I can't use firefox for long as it keeps exiting, so where to go from there. I don't want to use any other browser, but right now, I may have no choice.
All the best.
