Feature request: Filtering scripts by page as well as source

Post by SomeoneElse »

I love NoScript -- I have been using it for a couple years now -- but something's been annoying me for awhile: I can't allow scripts FROM specific domains, only ON specific domains.

I use Facebook to keep in contact with my friends, but I'm not interested in using its features from 3rd-party websites, such as a centralized login experience or share pictures/videos/articles. If I want to share anything, I'm perfectly content to copy-and-paste the URL; I don't need Facebook seeing more of my web browsing habits than it needs to. Call me paranoid, but it creeps me out that 1) Facebook requires JavaScript, and 2) by enabling JavaScript from facebook.com, I allow it on both Facebook AND 3rd party websites.

I'd really like to see an option to fine-tune the white/blacklists to enable certain websites' scripts only on specific websites, such as "Allow facebook.com and fbcdn.com only on facebook.com". This is only a specific application of the filter; one can come up with additional uses as well.

Heh, this gets asked a lot lately. While I like that at least some people are sensitive to this I wish they would use the search function or read the FAQ.

This is probably what you are looking for: FAQ 8.10
