Does NoScript communicate with its servers?
Does NoScript communicate with its servers?
Today at Firefox startup opened NoScript home page with a notice that the version of the extension is out of date. Previously, this was not observed. Does NoScript call its servers sometimes and if so how can It be stopped? (Windows Vista SP2, FF4, Noscript 2.0.9.9)

Re: Does NoScript communicate with its servers?
On updates, the release notes page is shown and the current version number is appended to the URL so that the page can "know" if it's outdated and advise you to upgrade.
No background communications happen, beside the anonymous WAN IP checks performed by ABE's router protection.

In my case the NoScript home page started without any update of extension.

Did you install it manually or reset the noscript.version preference?mikhail wrote:In my case the NoScript home page started without any update of extension.
