prevent xterm from launching when using cURL

I use cURL as dowload manager with Flashgot 1.2.8.5 on Ubuntu 10.10 and FF 3.6.15. Flashgot All, opens up a large number of xterms totally cluttering up the desktop and if the downloads are slow, then it takes forever to clean up. Is there anyway to disable this behaviour and prevent xterms from launching? Or to launch them in the background?
