[RESOLVED] Right-click option for listed domains in menus

Post by KieSeyHow »

Hello, Dev team!

:) First of all, I must say that NoScript has to be the MOST crucial add-on for Firefox. It is always the first one in for any new install. But, to me, a critical feature is missing!

:?: Consider this. You go to a webpage, and you see the NoScript options bar pop up. You look to see what domains or sites must be allowed (a bit of guess work here is required ) for your requested page to work. But look at them, what are they, who are they? Is that domain safe, something malicious, another tracker, is it useless, it is needed?

 What would be awesome is if you could right-click the listed domains and sites on the NoScript menu and open in a new tab to see who and what they are. I am sure this is a very simple addition to make to the code. I feel it would be an invaluable feature!

 There is not even a way to copy the listed site or domain so you can paste it somewhere. The only option is to manually type it out into the urlbar, which is frustrating as the menu goes away when you move the cursor away. So, you must go back a few times to remember the URL to type.

Please add this feature!

Just middle click or shift click them.

Hello Giorgio Maone,

Thank you for your response.

Well yes, that is a workaround, but it causes two actions which I do not like:

1) It causes the site to be sent to another site which is an infringement of my privacy. I wish the link to open directly in a new tab without involving any other party.

2) It involves multiple clicks: middle-click the menu item, then click the submitted link on the result page, then I have to click OK on the pop-up message.

I am not suggesting that these options be changed in any way. I would just like the unused option for a right-click to be added that will take me directly to the site or domain mentioned in the menu :)

Both your concerns are addressed by changing the noscript.siteInfoProvider about:config preference to http://%utf8%

Yes! Perfect! :o Thank you so much for your swift and specific response. I knew there was an elegant and simple way to do it, but I had no idea you had even thought of it already in your code. I am impressed. :D
