Permissions for EPUB books

I searched this forum for EPUB, found nothing.
In my EPUB books, NoScript blocks file:// and chrome:
I searched the FAQ for those two terms and found the answers inconclusive.
Although it would be nice to display my EPUB books in the formatting and typography as they were designed, I hesitate to allow file:// and chrome: globally if it poses substantial risks.
Is there a way to allow these two for EPUB books only?
Running NoScript 2.0.9.8 on Firefox 3.6.15 under Windows 7 64-bit

Appears that chrome:// is not even de/selectable.
chrome:
It's the only "permanent" one. It can't be removed because it is the privileged pseudo-protocol used by Firefox internal scripts: disabling it would prevent the browser itself from working.

file:// looks to be more of a toss-up. If you need it, say for EPUB, then either you allow it or EPUB won't work (not that I know what EPUB is).
Can it's scope be limited using ABE (thinking not)?

No.

Now I'm confused
When I have an e-book open (note: the epub books are readable anyway without Javascript, but then the fonts and formatting do not show as intended by the book's designer), and then hover the cursor over the NoScript icon in the status bar, it offers me
file:// allow
file:// allow temporarily
chrome: allow
chrome: allow temporarily
(one of these four lines is bolded for some reason).

So, any idea what explains this?
I should add that when I first open my EPUB catalog (a view of the folder on my computer that stores downloaded EPUB books), hovering over the NoScript icon in the status bar does not show the four choices listed in my previous post.
Instead, there is only
chrome: disallow
This changes as soon as a book is displayed, to give the four choices listed above.
You can replicate this, if you wish, by installing the EPUB reader extension from Mozilla Add-Ons and then downloading a free EPUB book, for instance from epubbooks.com.

Hmm, I think it has to do with the settings in the EPUB add-on.
In the Miscellaneous tab, there are two fields, empty by default, where you can put checkmarks for:
Activate Javascript
Activate plug-ins
And when these checkmarks are put in and Firefox is restarted, hovering over the NoScript icon gives
file:// allow
file:// allow temporarily
The two lines for chrome: have disappeared.
So, it appears that the EPUB add-on overrides NoScript!
