webcams

Post by Dain »

I'm going to be heading overseas at the end of the year. Was wondering if there is a way to download a live webcam stream...would be nice to record my wife and daughters when I get a chance to talk to them on webcam. Just wondering if this is possible or if its going to be added at a later date. Thanks in advance!

Possible.

Though FlashGot does not download anything. All it can do is (possibly) detect a stream or media, & pass that information along to a download manager (or your browsers built-in download manager).

You can use several tools out there that are available. I know that many of the default webcam software that comes with your PC "usually" has a recording ability and you just have to set it up. You can also use video capture software, which are too plenty to list, and do it that way, although resolution may be an issue. Although I have not done it recently, you can also VLC to do a capture as well, but that "can" be tricky depending on your setup. If you like me to help figure something out for you, just PM me and I will try to walk you through a few options, as I have with some family and friends.
