[Resolved] Can't store my white list

Post by bepi »

Hi everybody

When i change my white list, the changes can be found in my Firefox prefs.js . But when i close the Firefox and start it again, the changes get deleted.
What have i done wrong?

Thanks a lot

Since all your Firefox preference are stored there, the question is: does any preference persistS after you restart Firefox?
If none does, are you using any sandbox around Firefox which may reset file changes happening during browsing?

By mentioning prefs.js, it sounded more like the OP is making changes directly to the file itself. Thus after saving changes from the file and upon restarting Firefox, whatever changes that might have been made would irrevocably be discarded by Firefox.

If this is the case, then it is advisable to make changes from within Firefox, using NoScript's whitelist options dialog, instead of directly modifying the said file. If this is not, then please proceed with Mr. Maone's inquiry.

Thanks to Giorgio and milithruldur who tried to help me.
Is a feature, i's not a bug, I have found the following:

Important: Once an entry for a preference setting exists in the user.js file, any change you make to that setting in the options and preference dialogs or via about:config will be lost when you restart your Mozilla application because the user.js entry will override it.
